CourtSA sends email notifications to parties on a case
Which parties receive notification will depend on the type of notification.
For example, when a document is lodged and required Court Services review before it is lodged the lodging party will receive a notification to say it has been received. Generally, once it has been approved all parties will receive a notification to advise it has been filed.
Notifications include hearing notices.
It is not possible to subscribe or unsubscribe to notifications.

Where notifications are sent
Notifications are sent to:
- The responsible solicitor for any party
- Any self-represented litigants
- Any interested parties
The email notifications are not sent to the account you use to lodge documents (unless they are the same).
If you are not a lawyer
Notifications are sent to the email address you entered on the form when you:
- Started a case, or
- Requested access to a case
If you are a lawyer
Notifications are sent to the email address associated with:
- The L or P code you provided when you started a case, or
- Either the L or P code you provided when you requested access to a case
Notifications can only be sent to one person for each party. If you have a firm account and want notifications to be received by more than one user you must set up your own internal processes.
The Responsible Solicitor on all cases lodged before CourtSA launches will receive CourtSA notifications
The Responsible Solicitor on all existing cases will be migrated to CourtSA. However, to access these cases this person must create a CourtSA account and request access to all these cases. There is no automatic access to cases.
This person will receive CourtSA notifications to the email address associated with their P Code regardless of whether they have a CourtSA account or access to the case.
If you want someone else in your organisation (in addition to the Responsible Solicitor) to receive CourtSA notifications, you must use your own processes.
If you want to replace the Responsible Solicitor with someone else in your organisation you must lodge a Notice of Acting for that person by having. The new Responsible Solicitor will receive notifications and the old Responsible Solicitor will not. To lodge a Notice of Acting that person must request access to the case from the Court. This will generate a Notice of Acting.
If you want to remove the Responsible Solicitor you must lodge of Notice of Cessation of Acting. The old Responsible Solicitor will stop receiving notifications and your organisation’s access to the case will be removed. A Notice of Acting is generated when you request access to a case from the Court.
If you want to be the Responsible Solicitor on an existing case you must request access to the case from the Court. This will generate a Notice of Acting and you will be recorded as the Responsible Solicitor and receive notifications.
Update your notification email address
If you are not a lawyer
Notifications will always be sent to the email that you entered on the case initiation form, not the email you registered with unless they are the same.
If you are a lawyer
Notifications will always be sent to the email address associated with your P code. If you want to change the email address associated with your P code, please contact the Law Society.
